A Word from Tostan on the Impact of the Pathy Family Foundation’s Support
Since 2010, the Pathy Family Foundation has been a steadfast supporter of Tostan, playing a vital role in advancing our mission and amplifying our impact. Thanks to their generous funding, Tostan’s Community Empowerment Program has reached thousands of communities across West Africa, empowering women and girls, improving the economic stability of families and enhancing community knowledge on hygiene, disease prevention, and human rights. As a result, more than 9,000 communities have publicly declared the abandonment of harmful practices such as female genital cutting and child marriage. Investments in initiatives like the Prison Project and the Tostan Training Center, have provided life-changing education, leadership and knowledge sharing opportunities, and economic empowerment for countless individuals.
Pathy’s commitment has been especially crucial during moments of crisis, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, ensuring that Tostan could continue supporting communities when they needed it most. Their belief in Tostan’s mission and values has been instrumental in scaling our work and driving sustainable change.
