We’re delighted to see that the voices of our communities have been heard in The Gambia! On Monday, July 15, the Gambia National Assembly’s decision to reject the proposal to amend the law banning female genital cutting truly reflects the collective vision for wellbeing that our partner communities have tirelessly advocated for.
It’s with great joy and relief that the assembly’s decision to reject the law was welcomed. This is a powerful example of how communities can make a difference when they stand together and voice their vision for dignity and wellbeing.
With gratitude,
Gail Kaneb,
Chair of the Board
